WHY IS HARTFORD OUR MISSION FIELD?
- Hartford was founded to be a City on a Hill
- Hartford is the center of social service and philanthropic activity in the region
- The harvest is ripe in Hartford
- The city of Hartford is vital to the region
Our Objectives IN MINISTRY
Our Vision is aligned with the ideal of the founding church in Hartford, formed by a group of settlers from Boston who believed the attempt at creating a City on a Hill in Boston was not being crafted in a way that made its benefits accessible to everyone it ought to. Hartford was always intended to be more intentional about being a place where the Lord would be met as a place of refuge and hope. In fact, the preceding Dutch colony on the land was called the Fort of Good Hope. We see God's hand on the planting of this city, and our desire is to partner in the cultivation of His Presence in our midst.
There is clear biblical instruction for what a City on a Hill should look like, found in Zechariah 8. Therefore, our ministry objectives are to sow into and germinate the demands outlined in that text. We desire to weave those objectives into each of our programs, for the benefit of our neighbors in Hartford and to the glory of God.
