Service philosophy
The Hartford Project (THP) is a discipleship training ministry for the Church in New England. Groups come and live in Hartford, CT for five days in the summer and for shorter weekend experiences during the school year. During these outreaches, our groups serve the community, learn about poverty, experience racial reconciliation, and build relationships with the wider body of Christ.
We believe that service-learning provides great opportunities for our youth to grow, and that's just one reason serving with our Worksite Partners is central to The Hartford Project. Each year we provide our Worksite Partners with volunteer support in various areas including landscaping, painting, kids programs, cleaning, and more! We also ask that Worksite Partners share briefly about their organization when students arrive, so participants can better understand the impact of their service and the passion behind your ministry.
Each Worksite Team is comprised of approximately 12 students and their leaders, representing 2 different churches. The students volunteer with our Worksite Partners during THP outreach dates. Out reach dates will come early 2024.
